I aspire to be the best I can be in all that I do, whether I am on the lacrosse field, in an academic setting, in the community, or as a big sister or friend. My mother has described me as, "self directed and self motivated, and that she is fortunate she does not need to prod me to get things done. I just do them." I have learned this not only because of her, but also because I have learned hard work pays off.
Academically, I chose a challenging course load because I don't want to just coast through high school, taking courses that I know I can get an "A", but not feel stretched. I am learning how to balance schoolwork, all of my activities at school, training for lacrosse and sports performance training, as well as doing what I need to at home. I know this will help me when I am in college and have to balance lacrosse, studying, etc. I don't want anyone to worry about me not being able to handle the commitment and workload.
I started playing lacrosse later than many of my teammates. I worked really hard to learn the game by attending numerous camps, watching videos and even traveling to games to watch in person. I love the game and I love being able to help my teammates; many times I will say "spread out" or encourage a teammate with a positive word. I have been told I am coachable, a hard worker and solid player. I may not be the top goal scorer, but I know that if I can feed the ball to a teammate to score, or set up a play, I have helped the team succeed.
