Emily Smith 2017 ...Personal Statement
My name is Emily Smith (2018) from Anoka, MN and I am interested in playing lacrosse at the college level. I have been playing on my high school varsity team since 8th grade and I consider myself very coach-able, hardworking, and a team player.
I currently am a junior, a team captain, and I play as a midfielder. Last year I was awarded All-Conference Honorable Mention and I won the Anoka Award for team hustle. This year I was awarded All-Conference and team MVP. I am fast on my feet and have good knowledge of the game. I scored 30 goals and had 20 assists this season. I currently play in the summer for MN Lakers Select and will be attending the STX tournament in Stillwater July 14-16, and the IWLCA Midwest Cup July 7-9 in Rockford, IL.
As a student, I have a 4.0 GPA (weighted) and scored a 24 on my ACT. I am involved in National Honor Society (serving as a volunteer coordinator), an officer in Spanish Honor Society, a member of our choir and theater programs, as well as DECA. I am interested in Psychology and Entrepreneurship as an area of study in college.
