Personal Statement

Ever since I was young I've been a hard worker and I have excelled both in the classroom and on the field. I have never gotten lower than a B in any class, and I never plan to (including college). I do not quit anything I start and if I start it I do it to the best of my ability. Athletically I am a usually the strongest player on the field because I am a two time all-state power lifter. Also I am normally one of the faster players on the field with a 40 yard time of 5.1 seconds (unofficially timed by a teammate). It is my dream to play as a college lacrosse player because I have grown to fall in love with the game.

I am a former basketball player and track runner and my high school's lacrosse coach asked me to come try lacrosse my sophomore year. I immediately fell in love with the sport and started off on the JV team because I had never played in a game before. Even though I had never played I still started my first game because the coaches were so impressed at how fast I caught on. That same year, even though I was injured, I was pulled up to the varsity team. That summer I joined a U-17 club team called Sand Sharks and I started in every game of every tournament we went to. My coach Kim Vincent (now a college coach at Hope college) eventually made me a captain because of my leadership skills both on and off the field. I withdrew from my other sports to focus on lacrosse and I continue to play lacrosse year round for both my school team and for Sand Sharks.
