I am very dedicated to any sport I play, which is now lacrosse. In high school I had to make a choice and decided I really love lacrosse and want to play in college if at all possible. I try to work out, run, and practice lacrosse everyday even between my homework, extracurricular activities, and friends. This is very demanding, but I believe if I want to play in college it is absolutely necessary. I have attended many lacrosse camps in the East and in Michigan and have realized that playing at the college level would be a huge accomplishment, especially a Division I college. I am working very hard with my coaches to continually improve my skills and game knowledge. I am currently in the middle of a transition from attack to focusing on defense and would welcome critiques so that I can become a better defender. Hopefully, by being able to become a great defender my offense will also continue to improve and I will be a more complete player. I will have a better idea on how to beat the defense and defend better on transitions up the field.
In school I try extremely hard to receive a 4.0 even though this can be difficult with some the honors and AP classes. I am a junior and have transferred to a new school this year and I was able to make the adjustment and enjoy the challenges of the new school. I learned by making new friends, getting involved, being inducted to NHS, and asking for help when I needed it, I could quickly fit in. Similar to lacrosse, I work extremely hard to receive the best possible grades. Academics are actually more important to me than any athletics and it does come first. However, I try to balance both equally so that they both receive the amount of time necessary to achieve success. This approach is working and I will continue to strive for excellence in my academic studies all the way through to the end of my senior year.
