With my family, I visited several universities in the Boston area in July 2017, between visits at Prep schools for 2018. It was inspiring to walk through the campuses and visit their rink, look at the banners, the trophees, and get a feel for the accomplishments of their athletes. Making history by winning a championship is what is's all about.
Hard working, character, dedication, drive and always smiling describe me the best according to my coaches. As a goaltender and a student, I learned rapidly that I need to give everything I can to perform well in order to give my team a chance to win every single day. I take example on female goaltenders that I saw being better and better and that, like me, continued to play with boys until at least Bantam-Midget, one starting at Clarkson in 2018 and the other, a McGill starter and selcted on the U-22 Canadian National Team. Having a Haitian father, a French Canadian mother, and growing in Quebec, we learn fast that our actions have an impact on the community and on how people see you. Quebec is a very diverse community with different and mix origins. Volunteering is really encouraged here. In college, I would like to contribute by that diversity, that community approach and the determination that I have.
I’m French, so I’m clearly not completely bilingual. However, I’m in advanced English and I also take Spanish classes as a third class. Having a limited level of vocabulary and making clear well-constructed sentences when speaking is a challenge for me, for now. But preparation for the SSAT and the TOEFL has helped me improve.
I currently play boys hockey in M15 major, LHPS for my school. Since 2007, I train with a strong goalie coach and I am supervised during each team practice. I am competitive and these coaches have always helped me be prepared properly to support my teammates with consistancy and reliability, both physically and mentally.
Love the game :)
