I started playing hockey because my best friend played hockey and just about everyone in my neighborhood played hockey. I enjoyed being a skater. But when I got to play my first game as a goalie, I loved it. I couldn't wait for the next time I got to put on the pads. I love the mental and physical challenges of being a goalie. As my skills improved, I have been fortunate to play with and against some of the best players in Minnesota and the country. That drives me to get even better.
My ultimate goal is to play college hockey while pursuing a degree in education. I also want to eventually be a hockey coach. I already do some coaching with super mites and it is great. It is so rewarding to see them learn something new and develop confidence in the skills they are learning. I was given the wonderful opportunity to be named a captain of my high school team this year. I strive to make sure my team mates have a good role model. I do all the extra work outs that I can to be stronger and faster which is also making me a better goalie. My proudest moment was when I pulled myself in the third period of a shutout to get my backup goalie into the game so she could get her varsity letter. It was the right thing to do for her and showed the team that we can more selfless with each other and still be successful.
