Taitum Beck '17 Recruiting Profile

My name is Taitum Beck and I am currently 18 years old. I have been working to continue my passion of golf at the collegiate level . 

I started golfing at a very young age with my family. Over the years it has been something that my family and I do together. I cherish the memories that I have made on the golf course, and look forward to more. 

As a Freshman I competed on my team as the number 2 position. As a team we ended up making it to sectionals for the first time in our schools history. Freshman year made me realize how much I love this sport and that I want to compete at a higher level. As a sophomore I won our conference meet surprising many. I worked hard all season and advanced to sectionals as an individual. Missing state by 1, I shot an 82.

The next year I struggled in my season, but again made it to sectionals as an individual, again missing state by 1 and shooting an 82. I am captain of the golf team and play as number one. Over the years I have improved my game drastically and look forward to doing so again.

This year I have set 3 tournament records thus far, and have been medalist in all of our conference matches. I hope to lead our team to it's first Conference Championship in 36 years and I am determined to make it to the State Tournament. 

I have an older brother, Granthem, who I look up to as he has continued his golf career playing at UW-Parkside. I also have a foreign exchange sister from Spain. Irene lived with my family for a year during my sophomore year. Both of my siblings motivate me and see that I can reach my dreams. My family is very important to me. Although I love being close to my family, I really look forward to leaving for college and exploring all that the world has to offer.

Living in Wisconsin I have been blessed with the Midwestern work ethic. I look forward to my future and working hard to achieve my dreams.
