Personal Statement

My passion for this game is like the love between a parent and a child-- it's unconditional and will always be there. I have big aspirations for my future, which includes being on the LPGA. I do realize that my statistics, as far as scores and handicap, have a ways to go before I get there. However, I TRULY believe that I can win on a consistent basis at a national level, and I am ready to prove that this year. I am looking for a college who will give me the chance to compete at a high level. (scroll to bottom for sats)

What can I bring to the table? I bring a load of enthusiasm, uncompromised leadership, high academic performance, and a competitive edge to the team. This spring I've been up to: work, golf, maintaining muscles, and heavy work on the short game. Now, every shot that I pull-off is planned. This is because I now set up my stance strategically, have acquired greater distance control, and know exactly where I want to land the ball. This is resulting in lower and more consistent scores.

Two highlights in my year for golf:

1. The improvement of my high school conference average

  • 2012: 44
  • 2013: 42
  • 2014: 36.8

2. Winning the title of 2014 WPGA Jr. Girls Player of the Year

Highlights in my character are my positive, upbeat, enthusiastic attitude, my leadership skills, and my work ethic. I am known for being hard-working in everything that I do, whether it is in golf doing repetition after repetition, studying in school for a small effort assignment, in my volunteer work, or in the weight room.

I'm 16 years old right now. I started golf when I was 10 years old and have been competing since I was 13. So, the last couple years have been all about learning the game and improving. (Scroll to the bottom for statistics). Trying to better my consistency, this winter, I have worked a lot on ball control, so I am excited to prove that I can consistently post low rounds in competitive tournaments.

The following are stats for the WPGA Jr. Tour tournaments over the summer...

  • 2012 (13 yrs old): avg. 91.3. Low round: 80 (+8).
  • 2013 (14 yrs old): avg. 84.5. Low round: 76 (+5).
  • 2014 until July 31st (15 yrs old): avg. 84.86. Low round: 72 (+1).
  • 2014 August until end of HS season (15 yrs old): avg. 77.08. Low round: 71 (-1) and 33 (-3).

Averages:

  • Driver: 260-70 yards
  • GIR: 12/18
  • Putt: 29
  • Up and downs: 60%
