Personal Statement

In the fall of 2012 I went with my family on vacation to Edisto Island, South Carolina. The resort we stayed at included an 18-hole championship golf course. Just prior to the trip my parents purchased my first set of golf clubs. At the time I was in eighth grade and played volleyball and softball and while I had played some golf to this point, the time spent on this vacation set the tone for my future interest in the game of golf. We played many times on this trip, enjoying the course, companionship, and competition.

In the summer before my freshman year, I was planning to try out for the volleyball team when our high school hosted a meeting on the girls’ golf program. This meeting convinced me to attend the tryout and after three days of practice and play the coach informed me I would play on the varsity team. I’ve played varsity all three years progressing from the #5 player my freshman year to the #3 golfer my sophomore year and this year I played in the #2 position. My scoring average has improved from the high 50’s to the high 40’s to what is now 44 for nine holes. I plan to continue to improve my game in the coming years and I am seeking a college golf experience that will help me continue this improvement as I continue to evolve my understanding of the game and my golf swing.

Academically, I am a dedicated student receiving A’s in all my classes absent one B in the first semester freshman advanced language class. My college and career plans are undecided at this point as I hope to play competitive golf in college while pursuing my degree. I am seeking opportunities that balance academics and athletics while allowing time for self-exploration.

In addition to my academics and golf, I have been very involved in the band and music program since my freshman year including: wind ensemble playing clarinet, color guard, pep band for basketball and football, jazz band playing piano, and musical pit orchestra playing clarinet. I have participated in Regional and State Solo and Ensemble competitions playing clarinet and piano which included an Exemplary Soloist Award in Piano at State in spring 2015.

The life lessons one receives and experiences in the game of golf match my personal interests – honor, integrity, fulfillment, and challenge. I look forward to extending my experiences in golf at a college or university that will challenge not only my golf game but also my academic and personal interests.

  • 2 day invitational. We stay overnight at the chula vista. I shot 87-89. (I really didn't want to put this on my profile) always a meet i look forward to. The first day I was 1 under through 5. And that's all I'm saying.
  • Camp/Event
  • 2016 College Showcase
  • 7/17/16 to 7/18/16
  • 2 day event--the first day being range time where coaches can walk around and watch the players' swings. Video and launch stats were recorded for each player's 6-iron and driver and I believe was sent to quite a few other coaches. The 2nd day is a round at the Irish course where I shot a 91 to tie for 9th.
  • Camp/Event
  • 2016 Junior Tour Event #2

  • Camp/Event
  • 2016 Players Tour Event #1
  • 6/12/16 to 6/13/16
  • 2 day tournament--My first tournament of the summer. I didn't play great on the first day but overcame the doubt on the second day--I improved by ten shots and placed 14th.

  • 8/07/15 to 8/07/15

  • 7/27/15 to 7/28/15
  • The 2015 Showcase Tournament was a two day event with day one at Whistling Straits starting with skills events, including ball-striking, video and launch monitor recordings (http://golfcoacheswi.org/collegeshowcase/2015SwingVideos/). Day two included an 18 holes tournament set at 5600 yards on theMeadow Valleys course at Blackwolf Run.
  • Camp/Event
  • 2015 Wisconsin PGA Junior Tour Event #21
  • 7/13/15 to 7/13/15
  • In my second Junior Tour event I shot a 93 finishing 11th out of 19 golfers. With some equipment issues with my Driver I elected to tee off on all but 2 of the 14 driving holes with my five (5) iron. I scored par on 5 holes, bogey on 7 holes, double bogey on 5 holes and had 1 triple bogey.
  • Camp/Event
  • 2015 Wisconsin PGA Junior Tour Event #19
  • 7/09/15 to 7/09/15
  • This is the first Junior PGA I played shooting a 92 and tying for 15th place out of 25 golfers. I scored par on 3 holes, scored bogeys on 10 holes, and had 5 double-bogeys.
  • Camp/Event
  • Champion Level Kohler Junior Golf Academy
  • 6/10/15 to 8/12/15
  • Two hours weekly alternating between breakout practice sessions in small groups and on-the-course sessions. Overall program started with a skills assessment and concluded with team and individual competitions.
  • Camp/Event
  • 2016 Junior Tour #27
  • Difficult tournament for most every player. I shot a 90 only hitting 3 woods of the tee on my second nine where I shot a 40 (technically the front nine). Placed 4th overall behind and 78 79 and 85.
  • Camp/Event
  • 2016 Junior Tour #28
  • Usually another tough course for most players though my high school team plays a few meets here every year so I have plenty of experience. I shot my personal best round of 77 with a 40 on my first nine (the back nine) and a 37 on the 2nd including 4 total birdies and one double bogey on 18.
  • Camp/Event
  • Seymore Invitational 2016
  • The first high school meet of the season. Shot an 87
  • Camp/Event
  • Marinette Invitational 2016
  • I have placed top 10 in this meet 3 years in a row. But this year I shot an 82 to win the tournament. (I was hoping for a trophy... but first is first) we also won the meet as a team so it was a very successful day.
  • Camp/Event
  • Conference Meet #1 2016
  • the first of 4 9 hole conference meets (not including the conference championship-18 holes). I shot an even par 36. It felt really good. Like this is how I feel like I should always play. We will see how that turns out.
