Personal Statement

I was born and raised in Manhattan Beach, California surrounded by the ocean and many beautiful golf courses!  I played AAU and club basketball, soccer, and volleyball at a high level.  I'm a swimmer, surfer and a certified LA Junior Lifeguard but I only began playing golf four years ago.  This challenging and competitive sport has quickly become my passion and I plan to play and enjoy it forever, no matter where life takes me.

Graduating high school in 2018, I’m now a Junior living in Ashburn, VA.  I played Varsity Basketball as a 2-year starter in 9th and 10th grade and co-ed Varsity Golf in 9th, 10th and 11th grade.  As captain and #1 player, I was named MVP and I was honored with a Commendation from The House of the Commonwealth of Virginia.  I also earned an automatic state qualifiers in 2015 and 2016.   Placed 2nd, even par (72) in the VHSL Region 5A North Championship and I finished 8th overall in the VHSL State Championship.  My current handicap is a 1.6.  Among my tournament successes, I am most proud of my 1st Place Medalist in the 2016 Bobby Bowers Memorial Championship.

With a sincere desire to be successful both on the golf course and academically, I continue to challenge myself with honors and AP classes.  My current GPA is a 3.88.  I love public speaking, having a voice to express myself and using it to help others.  I’m a good listener, great friend and I live life with a smile and a "can-do" attitude.  As such, I am one of three student representatives chosen for the Advisory Council at Briar Woods High School.  I’m also a member of The National Honor Society, The Key Club International, the American Sign Language Club, National Honor Society: Spanish and a First Tee of Greater Washington, DC Volunteer.   With a positive attitude, fearless nature and a lot of hard work on and off the course, I plan to achieve my dreams and goals.
