Hello my name is Cassie Campos I am from Bountiful, Utah. My graduation year is 2016 and I will be graduating from Bountiful High School. I have a 3.8 GPA and work very hard when it comes to academics. I am in Honors and Ap classes and I am always on the Honor Roll.
I have been playing golf for two seasons and going into my third season as a senior and thus far have received two varsity letters on the woman’s golf team. We took 1st in Region were I placed 8th individually and 2nd in State and I received 2nd team All- State Honors. This summer I placed 3rd in player of the year rankings in the Utah PGA Junior Golf Connections Tour Series Girls 16-19 yrs. I am improving more and more everyday my goal this past summer was to be shooting in the 70s for the upcoming high school season. I have been working with a top rated swing coach and I am now averaging scores in the mid 70's low 80's with a personal best score of 73 and a score of 77 in Junior Championship competition. I went from a 28.9 handicap to a 7.7 handicap in 3 seasons. I am team Captain of our high school team and thus far we have won all our matches that we've played, I personally have placed 1st place medalist in two events and 2nd in two others. We just finished our season and our team took 1st in Region where I placed second in overall points, our team placed 2nd in State where I finished 8th overall and was listed as 1st Team Allstate.
I played a lot of tournament golf over this past summer playing in both the UJGA Utah Junior Golf Assocation, Utah PGA Junior Golf Connections Junior Tour as well as the RMJGT Rocky Mountain Junior Golf Tour programs. I won the UJGA Skills Challenge, I received 3rd place honors for Player of The Year in points standing in the Utah PGA Junior Golf Connections program, and placed in the top 5 of all the RMJGT events I entered. I have continued tournament play and have traveled this past fall within the Regional Rocky Mountain Junior Tour Series in Utah/Idaho/Colorado. I am excited about the improvements I have made in my game.
I'm excited about the prospects of playing college golf and feel I could be a good fit with the right team. I have found that a lot of my peer junior golfers have been playing golf most of their young lives and feel most have peaked in their game and ability as I have surpassed them in driving distance and scoring and I am just getting started, I know that sounds a bit cocky but truly believe I'm a jewel in the rough as far as my golf game goes. Everyday I'm excited about working hard on my game and look forward to the next few years as I improve and reach my full potential and know I can be a great asset to any program.
I recently attended the KIA CLASSIC an LPGA event in Carlsbad California to watch and learn from some of the lady pros and learned a lot! I'd be lying if I didn't admit that a dream of mine would be to play on the LPGA tour someday.
