Personal Statement

I make a good candidate for a collegiate golf team because I am a hardworking student that strives to be the best possible student-athlete. I continue to study and make sure I understand material in and out of the class room. I am self motivated to constantly improve my golf game and over all athleticism. I spend hours at the golf course on a daily basis to perfect my short game and swing. I have gained an enormous amount of experience through NTPGA junior golf tournaments and have learned many valuable lessons in life. I have learned to encourage and trust my team mates. My mental game is continuing to improve and I am told that I am a coach-able athlete. I continue to take lessons from my professional swing coach, Jake Sandusky. This was the second annual Ben Hogan Junior Cup Matches. The top six boys and girls from North and South Texas faced off in a Ryder Cup style event. I had the honor of being a part of the North Texas team. The first two matches on the 8th were mixed four-ball, where my partner and I lost our match one down on hole 18, and foursome matches, where my partner and I lost one down on the last hole as well. The second day was singles matches, where I won my match 3 up with 2 to play. The North team won the tournament 12 1/2 to 11 1/2 points to retain the cup.

On the second round, we had another lightning delay when I was on hole 10. We were fortunately able to finish the round after an hour delay.

Training

Lessons and Practice Sessions with PGA Professional

I train two to three and a half hours a day, regardless of weather. I work on my full swing, short game (100 yards and in), and putting during every practice session. I play regularly and use my mistakes as teachers. I use aim point when I putt and find myself extremely accurate and making longer putts. I work regularly with my coach, Jake Sandusky.
