I’ve had a deep passion for the game of golf. Growing up in a family that has a love for the game golf as well as other college sports, I have aspired to be a college athlete. I believe that the college athlete is a great example of a role model because they are able to balance athletics with academics. In High School, I have been able to excel in balancing both extracurricular activities and academics. Being a college athlete also means being a team player. Although golf is thought of as an individual sport, it is important to work with your teammates to build the best team possible. Every day, every practice, every tournament, I strive to improve my game and be the best player I can be. I am excited for the opportunity to play at the college level with new coaches, new teammates, and new courses to further improve my game and to win. I’m a natural competitor so winning is important to me. East Texas is sometimes referred to as the football capital of the world. This has some disadvantages; one being the closest covered driving range to my hometown is 45 minutes away. However, with the strong support of my family and my love for the game I have learned to overcome hardships and prosper.
