Alexis Kershaw '14 Recruiting Profile

My name is Alexis Kershaw and I am a junior at Ledford High School in Thomasville, North Carolina. I started playing golf when I was in the seventh grade and have been determined to play college golf ever since. When I first started, I realized that playing golf would be one of the hardest and frustrating things I would ever do. I saw how hard it was and made it my goal to one day play college golf. I am very determined on and off the course. I put my academics as a priority and am currently second in my class. My determination comes from the past sports I have played. When I was little, I swam competitively and would have practice five days a week. As an eighth grader, I swam on a varsity swim team at High Point Christian Academy and won a state title. This work ethic carried over when I decided to play golf. I practice on the course at least five days a week, and I put a purpose to my practice. On my high school team, I have been MVP my freshmen, sophmore, and junior year. I have had the experience of leading my team to two high school golf state championships as a sophmore and junior. I have learned how to handle the pressure of playing for your school and team and being able to win. Playing golf has taught me integrity and ultimately made me a better person.
