I am a senior at Oakville High School in St. Louis, MO. I am starting my fourth and final year on the Oakville Senior High varsity girls golf team and am looking forward to my first college golf season!
I began playing organized golf in fifth grade with CYC here in St. Louis. I have had golf instruction since fifth grade with Dean Frankiewicz, a local PGA Professional. I have had experience playing Junior PGA events since the eight grade. I advanced to Sectional play my sophomore year on the Oakville varsity girls golf team and earned a Second Team All-Suburban West Conference designation. My junior year at Oakville, I received First Team All-Conference Honors as well as being named the All-Suburban West Conference Player of the Year.
I am looking forward to attending a small to medium sized school in the Midwest area. However, venturing further geographically is definitely still not out of the question. I have a competitive nature and will go the distance to achieve my desired goals. My perseverance is also reflected in my academics where I have worked diligently to maintain a GPA of 3.83 through the end of my junior year with completion of several Honors and Advanced Placement courses.
I also keep myself active in school organizations and have been named Editor in Chief of the 2014-2015 Oakville Tiger Paw Yearbook. I love being part of the yearbook staff because it is a great way for me to stay informed of all of the achievements and interests of my high school community. Being a member for three years of the yearbook staff has prepared me for a leadership role this year that I am enjoying, as well as developing my passion for journalism.
Outside of school, I have danced competitively for 6 years and I have worked almost two years at Penn Station East Coast Subs. These activities have helped me to move out of my comfortable social circle and into a social setting I have found that I very much enjoy, all while helping me learn the true importance of time management and flexibilty!
I am currently undecided on my major, but psychology or occupational therapy are both of interest to me. I also have found a love for journalism and have began exploring that as a possible option. Overall, I feel I am a well rounded person with a competitive drive which will allow me to succeed in academics, athletics, college and in my life after college as a professional and a person.
