Michelle Rodriguez '16 Recruiting Profile

          I have a passion for golf and would like to find a university with an academic environment that will allow me to combine my love of golf and the ability to continue my academic development.  I have been fortunate to have attended some of the finest schools in South Florida and have played at the high school varsity level since 7th grade.  I have balanced golf and academics for many years and have maintained a good G.P.A. while travelling to attend golf tournaments throughout the state and country.  Being involved in high school competition as a 12 year old prepared me for many challenges and has made me a stronger and better athlete and person.  I believe these experiences make me an excellent candidate for a university team.  I am confident that I will continue to develop and become more competitive throughout the years to come.
           Golf has taught me perseverance and mental strength both of which have been important during the last few years where I found myself transferring to a school in another county as a junior to participate in a more structured and challenging golf program. The move was difficult, however, I was able to adapt and I know this coming year will be more productive. I have gone through periods where I have not played to my potential, yet I have found the drive to continue moving forward.  My inner motivation to succeed has driven me to work hard in both school and golf.  My work ethic and strive for excellence sets me apart as a student athlete. I am very excited the opportunities that lie ahead.
