If someone had told me a couple years ago that I would fall in love with the sport of golf, I would have been surprised. Growing up I played various sports, from swimming to volleyball to softball to dance; but, nothing seemed to click. I needed a sport that could match my eagerness to learn, my independent state of mind, all the while still challenging me.
And that is when I found golf!
I take every setback and challenge as an opportunity to grow, especially on the golf course, having shaved 25 strokes off my game in just two years. One of the most important lessons golf taught me is that every goal you have requires as much thought and determination as it does attention and focus. In the end, the shots that make the most difference require the most patience and persistence.
As a student-athlete, my academic profile is something I take great pride in, maintaining a 4.1 GPA and having goals to succeed to the best of my ability.
Playing collegiate golf is not only a dream of mine but a passion. I hope to find myself among equally motivated individuals, as well as coaches who push me to stay positive, despite hardships on the course. At the end of the day, golfers are only as good as the attitude they have about every swing -- good or bad. I take pride in the golf game I have developed, and in my ability to put forth the best of myself in everything I do, whether in school or on the course. The challenge is mine for the taking, and I am ready to put in the commitment and the attention required to take it to the collegiate level.
