Personal Statement

I want to attend a college and compete in diving while earning a bachelor of science degree.   My career goal is to enter either veterinary medicine or physical therapy.

I have been diving since age 6 with a summer league team.  I always enjoyed staying beyond practices and working extra to improve my diving during the summer.  I am still with this team, and I am now an assistant coach.  There were other sports I participated in during the school year, and I have been in advanced academics since middle school.  I have always worked hard in my studies and extracurricular activities.

This past year I have decided to dedicate myself to diving.  I attended Ripfest diving camp one week the summer of 2015 and four weeks the summer of 2016.  During these camps, I began diving from 3-meter springboard and 5m platform and improved on 1m.  I also have dove with Alexandria Dive Club in the past, but I am increasing my participation with them this year.

The dives I am proficient in are listed below in bold.  Dives I am working on learning are in italics.

NCSA COLLEGE RECRUITING®

NCSA College Recruiting® (NCSA) is the nation’s leading collegiate recruiting source for more than 500,000 student-athletes and 42,000 college coaches. By taking advantage of this extensive network, more than 92 percent of NCSA verified athletes play at the college level. The network is available to high school student-athletes around the country through valued relationships with the NFLPA, FBU, NFCA and SPIRE. Each year, NCSA educates over 4 million athletes and their parents about the recruiting process through resources on its website, presentations of the critically-acclaimed seminar College Recruiting Simplified, and with Athletes Wanted, the book written by NCSA founder Chris Krause.
