Personal Statement

The biggest accomplishment of my career as a sophomore in high school at Kettle Moraine in Wales, Wisconsin would be winning the Nike nationals tournament in Atlanta in the summer of 2019 (AAU Season). Also that year my High School Team (I'm the starting point guard) made it to the Sectional Finals, division I at State, the elite 8. Although those were my biggest accomplishments so far, there were many times I grew as a person and athlete before I got to that point. First, in sixth grade, I missed a free throw that would have sent my team to the championship game at the state tournament, although that may not seem like a big deal, and it may not be, but that year I became emotional to the sport of basketball which proves how attached I am to the game. Another growing moment was during my seventh-grade year, I tore my ACL trying to block a girl on a fast break. This was a tough year for me and it tested my patience as a person and player. There were many times I thought it would be so easy to quit, but I stuck it out with the help of my family and friends to push me and get me back to the court. This also helped me see the court better because I could watch other players my age and understand how to defend and beat them. Both of these incidents prove to me that I can accomplish anything and even if it seems too hard that I want to quit I am too emotionally attached to basketball I am unable to.

I have been extremely blessed to go to a wonderful grade school and now high school and play the sport I love all year round and I would never be able to do that without the support from my friends and family. I have given up a lot for basketball and if I were to do it over I wouldn’t change a thing. I am looking for a program that will fit my personality and my athletic ability. Everything my parents, teachers, friends, and siblings have taught me have helped me be positive and hardworking and I would love to share that with you and your team.
