I have grown up with my life surrounding around basketball. My grandfather being a great coach for girls and boys basketball, my uncle coaching at Boise for football, and my dad as my coach most of my years. I was always at my sisters practices because my dad was their coach. I would practice with junior varsity and varsity in 6, 7, and 8th grade. I stay after practice for hours to shoot and work on ball handling, then go in the weight room to get stronger. I'll stay up and watch film and scout other teams, to know what to work on and to know what to expect in upcoming games. Going to basketball camps and playing in AAU ball has helped me a lot become a better player, shooter, passer, and ball handler.
I work diligent on my school work because education is important to me. When in need of help I go to teachers and ask for help. I struggle in school but like basketball you can not give up. As a sophomore and junior I was asked to be a tutor and took the opportunity. I want to help people succeed. Most people take education for-granted and don't realize how important education is.My job has helped me a lot too, it taught me a lot. I had to become a student worker athlete. It taught how to prioritize, manage time, and still work hard.
I have always wanted to play at collegiate level in basketball. When I first heard of Alyssa Karel for the badgers I fell in love and wanted to be just like her. At one of my camps she was a helper there and she worked one on one with me. Elena Delle Donne from Delaware now for Chicago Sky has been my second favorite player. My oldest sister went to a division III school and played basketball, and I have always looked up to her. I want to play at division II or I and prove to myself and the people that do not think I can make it that I can. Basketball has been my passion for many years and it will continue to be a part of me for the rest of my life.
People always make excuses to go work on their game. I work on and off season most of the time by myself because practicing makes you better. Before work I would wake up at four in the morning to shoot and lift before heading out to work. Working with kids is difficult at times but they look up to me and I want to help them when I can. They have dreams just like me and I want to help them get to where they want to be.
