Personal Statement

I’ve been active as an athlete since I was 5 years old. I spent 7 years training Brazilian jiu jitsu and dance. In sixth grade I realized I wanted to play a team sport, and more specifically, basketball.  Since then I’ve focused full time on basketball, playing AAU and school ball year round and attending as many camps as possible to help build my skills.

These efforts resulting in my being selected as the only incoming freshman to begin my freshman high school season on varsity, and earning a starting position for the start of my sophomore year and the MVP and top player in scoring and rebounding for the season.  My first varsity game of this season, and the first game as a starter I earned player of the game and scored 14 points and 12 rebounds to earn my first of three double doubles this season.  I have been a starter the whole season and earned player of the game for 5 of the games this season.  14 coaches voted me all league and ultimately I received an honorable mention.

I was also the starting forward/wing position on the varsity squad for the summer tournament season and a starter on my AAU team (Compete Athletics) for the  past spring,  summer, and fall tournament seasons as well.

I enjoy being challenged not only in basketball, but academically as well. I am a 4.0 student and have always taken honors and AP classes to make sure I received the best education available.

As a college player I’ll bring this passion to learn and excel with the dedication to succeed with me to the school that fits my goals to become a lawyer.  The team will find I’m quite social, hard working, and truly grateful to be part of a great college team.
