I have been playing basketball since I was 4 years old. Every time my brother would go outside to shoot I would be right there with him. As soon as I was old enough to join a team I did, ever since the day that I stepped on the court I have been in love with the game of basketball.
I have always tried to do everything I could to be the best. I put many hours in the gym every day. When I was a freshman in high school I started on the varsity team at Federal Way High School. That was the greatest accomplishment I have ever made. Due to many reasons, I transferred to Auburn High School & as a sophomore started on varsity. During a game one day I dove on the ground after a loose ball and I injured my shoulder. I continued to play with a hurt shoulder and finished the season. Due to my injury I had to sit out my junior year however in April 2016 I went on to play AAU. Now as a senior I moved back to Federal Way High School and am on the varsity team starting at point guard.
Being through many situations in my life basketball has always been my outlet to everything. Basketball is my outlet because as soon as I step into the gym all my stress goes away, my mind immediately clears and all I think about is how I can improve my game. I fell in love with the game of basketball because as a little girl I was very shy but when I had a ball in my hand I was the most confident person, I could be myself and not worry about what other were thinking of me because I did not care. I was doing what I knew I was good at and what I loved. Basketball has helped me become the person I am today.
