When I was seven years old at first grade, our secondary school's basketball coach asked my family for parental approval to make me the part of the girls' basketball team. That was the first step for me to start a new way of life. My first coach influenced me a lot about the basketball game as a child whose third word out of the mouth was 'ball' after the words mum and dad. She influenced me about my determination and succeeding in basketball. That year I was a ball kid in FIBA World Championship for Women 2014 in Turkey. I met a lot of very talented and famous basketball players around the world that year who had a great impact on me. I became a member of numerous championships winning teams in Turkey, both in school and club level.
Receiving a scholarship from an American high school as a Senior student athlete is a significant milestone and major motivation in my basketball career. I feel I grew up as a person and as a basketball player this year. Thousands of miles away from my family; a new country, new language, new team, new coaches, new system...This experience helped me to focus on my own life, own efforts, own responsibilities and my play.
Teamwork, commitment, sacrifice, overcoming the obstacles and leadership are the five important words for me that I have learned the meanings of them more through playing basketball. I strived to do my best every time and I will keep on struggling to do better .My academic goal for college is to graduate with a high degree and I am looking for a program that will be a good fit for me. I have the talent .I feel courageous and strong enough to compete for a college team which I can make absolute positive impact on the program.
