Grace Carranza '23 Recruiting Profile

Hi! My name is Grace Carranza and I'm a Senior at Clear Falls High School in League City, Texas. I have always enjoyed having a sense of belonging and being around people but unfortunately early on we moved around a lot because of my father’s work. Then I started playing organized basketball in the 7^th grade and it really changed my view on life. I am starting my 4^th year of HS ball and just completed my 3^rd season of Club Ball. I have an intense love for the game of basketball and am always motivated to compete. That is exactly why I want to play in college, I don’t want it to end.

I want that motivation to push me to present the best me possible my Senior year of HS both athletically and academically, then carry that over into college where I have recently decided to pursue a “Business/Marketing” degree.

Regarding Basketball, my coaches have always told me my drive and my work ethic is my competitive edge and that just makes me want to work even harder. I am often commended for my defensive play and have played PG, SG, SF and PF. While I was often referred to as undersized when asked to play on the block, I was asked to play down low frequently especially from middle school through my sophomore year. My junior year was mostly guard play, but I have the flexibility to transition relatively easy based on need. I know I can contribute to any team I am a part of and look forward to doing just that at the next level.
