Kelly Tran '22 Recruiting Profile

My name is Kelly Tran and I attend Cypress Ridge High School. I'm in the graduating class of 2022 and have played basketball since the 7th grade. Although I started the game later than most players, my quick learning and work ethic drove me to where I am today. My coaches and teammates can describe me as a leader, competitive, passionate, coachable, and a hard worker. 

I played on the Freshman team as the starting point guard and captain. During that year, I earned the MVP award and scored 21 points in my best game. During my Sophomore year, I began on Junior Varsity and was given the option to play on Varsity. However, I passed that opportunity because I didn't like the team's environment. That decision was one that I regretted but I was thankfully given the opportunity to play some varsity games. I earned the Most Offensive Player award that year. During my Junior year, I played mainly on Junior Varsity and some Varsity games and tournaments. I again won the Most Offensive Player award. This season I'm one of the starting guards on Varsity. I'm looking forward to what this season has in store for me and the team with the goal of making it to playoffs. 

Off the court, I'm very active in keeping up with my academics. I maintain all As with a 6.67/6 GPA. I scored a 1330 on my SAT/27 on my ACT. I'm also involved in extracurriculars such as Interact club where I volunteer at a variety of events.
