I am an all-around student-athlete attending Blackman High School (Murfresboro TN) planning to aspire in the field of biology to be an orthopedic doctor. Basketball however, is my passion: I train every day for 2 to 3 hours. In training I lift weights, practice speed drills, shoot, as well as ball-handle. I have played at the varsity level since freshman year, and I have played in both regional and district championships. I also play AAU for Tennessee Pride, under Coach Chris Brown. I am a versatile player that can handle the ball and shoot at the guard position as well as getting physical in the paint.
When on the court I enjoy bring a lot of energy and enthusiasm to the team whether that be fighting on hustle plays or cheering my teammates on. Positivity is the strongest quality I bring to every team, which I believe is vital to winning championships. I am very competitive, I love competing against my teammates during practice in defensive and offensive drills and especially scrimmages.
Giving 100% on the court is just as important to me as working hard in the classroom and community. Currently, I hold a 3.7 GPA and I am a member of Mu Alpha Theta, math honors society. I also enjoy attending the Best Buddies Club at which benefits the special needs teens in my school. For two summers I volunteered at my community YMCA to earn one hundred hours of community service. I also volunteer to coach Special Olympics basketball and soccer teams.
At home, I live with my mother and father, Wanda and Robert Norris, and with my younger brother Robert Jr, who also has Down syndrome. I also have an older sister Jasmine who graduated from both San Diego State University and Vanderbilt University with a B.A and a Masters. Both of my parents served in the military my mother was in the Navy for 8 years and my father is currently a retired Marine who served for over 20 years. My family members are my biggest supporters and they encourage me every day push myself and aspire to achieve the highest goals possible.
Currently, I am open to a college of any size or setting preferably a school who offers my intended major, biology. I am eager to see what the future holds for me and where basketball and my academics can take me.
