Aneka Dixon '12 Recruiting Profile

My name is Aneka Dixon and I have been playing basketball since the age of four. I began playing recreational basketball when I was six years old until I was eleven. Throughout those years I played with different all-star groups. After playing recreational basketball, I continued on to play with my middle school team; while playing in middle school, I was being scouted by different aau coaches. I started playing aau/travel basketball shortly after I was scouted. I have had many successes during aau and my high school years of playing basketball. For instance, I have been playing varsity since the ninth grade. I also, have gotten awards, such as: best defensive player, most steals, second highest scorer, most valuable player, all tournament awards, and I also made the all-region team my senior year. I have always strived extremely hard to play my best and I always believed in the quote "I can do all things through Christ that strengthens me" Corinthians 4:13. Not only have I worked hard on the court, I have also worked hard in school; trying to stay ahead with my schoolwork. I also play tennis and I run track; these sports will always come second to basketball. I am active in my church's youth group and I sing on the youth choir. My dreams and goals are to graduate from high school with honors and get a full scholarship to any college who offers it. Basketball is something I really would like to continue and pursue after high school. Thanks for your time. Aneka!
