Hi, my name is Julie Carini and I am excited to be under the watch of the NCSA Sports Organization with the hope of continuing my Academic and Athletic career at the collegiate level.
I am a member of North Myrtle Beach High School Class of 2017 in South Carolina. My recent courses of study have been Algebra 1 Honors, Computer Apps 1-8, World Geography Honors, Geometry Honors, Drama 1 and Keyboarding. It’s been hard work, but so far my grades are in the high 90’s with a 4.0 GPA, and SC weighted GPA of 4.512
Some of my past academic achievements include Duke University Talent Identification Program, Horry County Schools South Carolina Junior Scholar for Outstanding Academic Achievement, selected to Horry County Schools Gifted and Talented Programs, President’s Award for Outstanding Academic Excellence, National Junior Beta Club, North Myrtle Beach Middle School Student of the Month and Certificates of Excellence in English Language Arts, Mathematics, and Social Studies.
My athletic passion is basketball. I have been active in the sport since 5th grade recreational league, and am currently a member of the North Myrtle Beach Varsity Girls Basketball Team. During 7th and 8th grade Middle School, my team had a two year record of 22-0, the first time in the school history for back to back undefeated seasons. During my freshman year, I was a member of the High School Junior Varsity where we were undefeated in region play winning our conference championship, and had an overall season record 15-2, only losing to the same North Carolina team twice by single digits. In my best game of the season, I scored 17 points, and in the final game of the season I was able to score the winning bucket with under 15 seconds left to play to win the conference title. At the end of the JV season, I was moved up to the Varsity level as our team went into the playoffs, providing me with some highly valuable experiences at the upper level.
Our 15-16 High School season has recently ended, and I finished second in scoring (5.6 ppg) and rebounds (5.5 per game) and led the team with 38 blocks.
I continue participate in an AAU travel ball league and am a member of the Manzer Basketball Academy, and also participate in their development and skills program. Our travel record is 8-3, and we have won our last two tournaments, and am continually participating in their development league programs.
In addition I've participated in women’s softball, and have been playing since 5th grade recreational league. While playing first base with the North Myrtle Beach Little League Softball program, I earned a position on the All Star Team in both 2011 and 2012. Our 2011 season was most rewarding since we won the District 5 Championship, moving on to win the South Carolina Little League Softball State Title and earned the chance to play in the Little League World Series regional tournament in Warner Robbins GA. Last season I was a member of the North Myrtle Beach JV softball team still playing first base, and at the end of the season was once again moved up to the High school Varsity level as the team competed through the playoffs. Finally, having decided that basketball was my true passion, I hung up my glove and now work on basketball skills daily.
I am an active member of my Church and its Youth program and participate regularly in many social and volunteer activities. I enjoy the challenges of both school and sports, and have a positive attitude and strong commitment. I believe that even though individual accomplishments are important, what puts winners ahead of others is the understanding the value of playing together and teamwork. We cannot win without the help of others.
