I am very excited to continue my academic and athletic careers at the collegiate level.
I attend Central York High School in York, Pennsylvania, which is recognized as one of the top public schools in the area. At the conclusion of my freshman year, I was ranked 6th in my class of over 450 students with a 4.116 weighted GPA. At the conclusion of my sophomore year with a significantly more challenging course load, I was ranked 12th in my class with a 4.068 weighted GPA. Now at the end of my junior year, I am ranked 11th in my class with a 4.169 cumulative GPA.
Now: Due to COVID-19, my school season was not finished, and my AAU team was not able to find enough girls to play. While this was very upsetting, it drove me to work harder on my individual game and skill work. Since the end of March, I have been keeping a consistent schedule of workouts and have started playing pickup again with some girls in my area. I try to do skill work 5-6 days a week with an emphasis on creating my shot off of the dribble. This skill work includes twice a week skill sessions I do in Harrisburg, PA at Next Level Basketball with Scott Singer. I also do a second workout 5-6 days a week in which I work on strength and agility. I have always used jump rope as a form of conditioning, however I have begun to use it more and more this year. I have 5 ropes, that vary from regular speed ropes to 2lb. weighted ropes. I like to mix jump rope with bodyweight exercises, as well as lifting weights. Recently I have been able to start pickup with my school twice a week, as well as team practices outdoors once a week. Lastly, I have begun training two girls that are in the youth program at my school. Training the girls has improved my own game, as it has forced me to think a lot about the purpose behind every move and drill.
Junior Season (2019/2020): As a junior, I averaged 11.7 PPG, 3.9 RPG, and shot 79.78% from the free throw line. I made 67 three pointers and scored 328 points. This season as a captain, I led our team to the county semifinals, district championship, and the state quarterfinals. The state quarterfinal game was cancelled due to COVID-19. I was named to the YAIAA Division 1 First Team All Star Team, as well as being named Tournament MVP for the Penn Manor Tip-Off Tournament.
Sophomore Season (2018/2019): I finished my sophomore season averaging 13.5 PPG, 5.1 RPG, and 2.3 SPG. I led the YAIAA in FT%, shooting 86.4% (121-140) from the line (4th in school history); additionally, I made 39 3-pointers this season (4th in school history). I scored a total of 310 points (2nd for sophomore scoring in school history). I was proud to lead our team in scoring in 17 out of 23 games. I was named to the YAIAA Division 1 First Team All Star Team, as well as the All Tournament Teams for the Penn Manor Tip-Off Tournament and Central York Holiday Classic.
Freshman Season (2017/2018): I was the only freshman to make varsity. While my playing time was limited, as we had 8 seniors, I was able to score 1.9 PPG and lead the team in FT%, 79% (19-24). As a team, we tied for the YAIAA Division I Champions, won the YAIAA Championship, and finished second in PIAA District 3.
I consider myself to be a shooting guard, however in my school season, I often play point guard as well. My high basketball IQ, shooting ability, ball handling, and work ethic make me an all-around threat.
Academics come first for me when looking at colleges. I have been on Distinguished Honor Roll every marking period since 7th grade, and am recognized as one of the top students in my grade. I began taking high school classes while I was still in middle school, and am now taking AP and college level courses, which include AP Calculus, AP Physics 1, AP U.S. Government and Politics, AP Statistics, CHS Spanish 4, CHS Accounting 2, and Linear Algebra (taken at York College of Pennsylvania). I have already taken the SAT twice, receiving a score of 1420 on the second attempt. I have also taken the ACT, and received a score of 32.
