My name is Leah Dubin and I am a junior at Wissahickon High School. I define myself as an athlete. I have earned a Varsity letter in every sports season of my high school career. I run Cross Country in the Fall, play basketball in the Winter and run track in the Spring. I was chosen as athlete of the month multiple times during my Freshman and Sophomore years.
I am a leader on and off the court and focus my time on achieving my academic and athletic goals. I have achieved distinguished honor roll each marking period of my high school tenure. I was selected for National Honor Society (NHS) this year. I am self-motivated and have good study habits. I am also very involved at my high school. I am a member of the FANS club, Jewish Student Union, Breast Cancer Awareness Club, and Ambassadors Club.
Basketball is my passion. I have played competitive basketball since third grade and have played intramural basketball since kindergarten. I have played on several travel teams, including AAU, as well as on Wissahickon Middle School and Wissahickon Varsity High School teams. I have been on Varsity each year that I have played. I served as the Captain of my MS team and am poised to be a captain of the WHS Varsity team this year. I also excel in running, and was the only runner in my school to qualify for the State Championship in 2018. I led my team in wins in XC meets both freshman and Sophomore years and led my team to their first Suburban One League Championship last year.
My goal is to play basketball for the remainder of high school (both with my HS and AAU teams) and throughout college. I am determined to attend a college in the Fall of 2022 that allows me to leverage my basketball skills. My primary objective is to attend a high quality academic institution that allows me to fulfill my athletic aspirations. I look forward to discussing my goals and my credentials with college coaches over the next 2 years.
