Jasmine Canady '12 Recruiting Profile

The weather was warm, and the nights were long on the evening I was born in Frankfurt, Germany, on June 6^th, 1994.  My name is Jasmine Mickael (pronounced Me-kayle) Canady.  I am dubbed as a “Military Brat”.  I have journeyed all around the world; Germany, Holland, Italy, Greece, Spain, France, and Paris. An extremely cool part of being born in Germany is that I have dual citizenship, or residency.  My parents are SERGEANT MAJOR Michael T. Canady Sr. and Della Thompson-Canady. I have one brother; Michael T. S. Canady Jr.  At the end of my bed, lay horizontal and vertical of one another are my three wonderful and loving pets; Santana, JoJo and Jada.  All of whom are of the canine family; one German Shepherd, and two Miniature Schnauzers (respectively).

I currently attend Overhills High School- GO JAGUARS, which is located in Spring Lake, North Carolina; close to Fort Bragg, North Carolina. While at Overhills, I have had the privilege, moreover the honor of achieving awards in academics and sports. I have participated in various extracurricular activities, women’s basketball, and soccer. I have taken the opportunity of volunteering with Special Olympics and American Red Cross.  It was through my own athleticism and volunteering with inspiring individuals in the Special Olympics, that I appreciated and recognized the importance of human movement, to include helping others live healthier lives through exercise, rehabilitation, and nutrition. I plan to major in Exercise Science.  My goal is to be a lifelong learner of the latter.
