I have been playing basketball for over 9 years and started playing AAU/travel in 4th grade. I was the starting point guard for my middle school team and played for my high school varsity team as a freshman. I was the starting point guard this season in my sophomore year. Our high school team is in the toughest 4A conference in the state. I have always had aspirations of playing in college, the WNBA and overseas. I am a natural born leader who's not afraid to take charge and push their teammates. I have a high basketball IQ and am a very hard working. I work on improving my game everyday and am very committed and willing to do whatever it takes to become the best that I can be. I welcome and apply coaches input and am eager to learn as much as possible. In pressured situations I know how to stay calm and relaxed. I understand the importance of being a selfless team player as opposed to a player just interested in personal glory.
Academics are just as important to me. I work hard everyday on maintaining my high GPA. I enjoy tutoring the educationally challenged children at my school and volunteering at the local Special Olympics. I also volunteer at a youth basketball camp. I'm a creative person who enjoys art, science, math and music. I am not afraid to try new things even at the risk of failure. I study hard and give full dedication to everything I do.
I want to attend a college that will challenge me academically as well as on the court. I'm open to considering all opportunities that are available to me and am looking forward to a successful college career.
