Hello, My name is Alaya Wright. Ever since I was 8 years old, I’ve had a love for basketball. Basketball is not just a sport to me it’s a drive and passion that I have burning deep inside. It’s my life! This love and passion for basketball has taken me on a journey that has resulted in me participating in CYO, AAU leagues and various camps that have been a valuable source of skill building and physical preparation. I currently play Varsity basketball in the eleventh grade with plans to continue in the next year and I’m eagerly looking forward to playing basketball on the collegiate level. Even though I’ve been playing for many years now, I acknowledge that my growth and personal maturity will continue for many years to come. I realize that respect for the game and others, humility and hard work produces greatness on and off the court. One of my goals is to become an essential, positive influence on those around me knowing that each player brings value to the team and the game. I believe that my experience in college will prepare me in my pursuits towards a career in Sports Management or Physical Therapy. My dream is to go as far as my love for the game of basketball will take me. I strive daily to be the best person that I can be challenging myself in my studies as well as on the court.
