Personal Statement

I have played three sports since I was nine years old.  Soccer and softball were the first sports I played at the age of 5. I did not begin basketball until I was nine. Even though I started playing it late, basketball quickly became my favorite sport. I fell in love with the game. Even though I continued with my other sports, I was always waiting for the basketball season to start.  It was entering my freshman basketball season that I realized that I might want to play basketball in college. Since then, the dream has become a reality.  I love the competitiveness, friendships, and life skills that the game of basketball has given to me. I have learned how to be a leader, team player, and a good person.  I have also learned how to manage my time between sports, school, and my family.

Academics have always been a priority for me. I have achieved a 4.0 GPA while also being involved in multiple school activities (National Honor Society, Hope Club, Future Business Leaders of America, Spanish National Honor Society and three varsity sports).  Basketball, however, is where I can apply my most important personal traits (hard work, competitiveness, and commitment to a team).  I believe that working hard with a group of teammates and coaches toward the goal of winning a championship(s) will greatly enhance my ultimate pursuit of a life changing college experience.

NCSA COLLEGE RECRUITING®

NCSA College Recruiting® (NCSA) is the nation’s leading collegiate recruiting source for more than 500,000 student-athletes and 42,000 college coaches. By taking advantage of this extensive network, more than 92 percent of NCSA verified athletes play at the college level. The network is available to high school student-athletes around the country through valued relationships with the NFLPA, FBU, NFCA and SPIRE. Each year, NCSA educates over 4 million athletes and their parents about the recruiting process through resources on its website, presentations of the critically-acclaimed seminar College Recruiting Simplified, and with Athletes Wanted, the book written by NCSA founder Chris Krause.
