My immediate goal is to position myself as a scholarship candidate (athletic/academic) and to play basketball at the collegiate level. My career goal is to own my own business, to do do something I love and to be an employment source for other people. I am an extremely hard working student athlete. I have been a varsity level athlete since my freshman year. Earning starting positions early in the season in both soccer and basketball. My teams in both sports have been and continue to be highly competitive and we play a tough schedule. Athletically however, basketball is my passion.
Understanding that the game of basketball is played at both ends of the floor, both offensively and defensively, I have worked very hard over the last three years to improve my skills and to be a well rounded player. I have experience playing in all positions and have proven myself to be effective in all and capable of playing inside and out. I am however most effective on the wing.
I am a team player. I have learned that I play my best basketball when I play for the team. I love the feeling of team success, it resonates with me more than individual accolades at the end of a game or season.
I am sure that my coaches would describe me as in all positive terms in that I am a leader, coachable, respectful and polite. Academically, I am strong honor student. I rank in the top 15% of my class out of 460 students and I was recently inducted into the National Honor Society.I am well respected amongst my teachers, coaches and peers. I have solid SAT scores.
During this season (2013/14), I have really grown as a leader and a player. I averaged 14.6 points per game, 9.8 rebound per game and shot 85% from the foul line. I posted 12 double double performances and had a career high of 27 pt and 15 rebounds. During the playoffs I averaged 17.2 points per game.
I hope to gain the interest and attention of a basketball program that has conference and national level goals. I am an impact player and I know that I would contribute not only to the goals of the basketball program but to the college community as well.
My progress can be followed at nj.com (state newspaper) high school sports by typing Taylor Bynoe in the player spot.
