Personal Statement

Please note:  I will be out of the country from August 5th through August 14th.  I will be able to check my e-mails during this time, but phone communication may be challenging.

I am currently a student-athlete, entering my senior year at The Pingry School.  I have been playing basketball since I was in third grade.  I am 6 feet tall and weigh 175 pounds.  I frequently play center, concentrating on my inside game. However, I've also worked on being a very versatile player and have developed strong shooting and dribbling skills. I've been playing AAU (year-round) for six years, and have been training vigorously with knowledgeable and qualified basketball experts. I had a very big accomplishment this year; leading my high school team into the county championship with a twenty-two- point game against one of our league's toughest teams.

I can offer any team strong leadership skills, a positive attitude, and a wide range of highly developed skills that can fill any needed position. I'm known for aggressive play and for my focused and hard-working attitude. In a typical game, I shoot around 90% from the foul line.  Most importantly, I get to the foul line with that aggressive passion that any successful player in this game must have.

Although I love my sport with much dedication, academics have always been emphasized in my family and are my first priority in my college decision. I'm currently on the honor roll at one of the most academically challenging private schools in the country. I've also been recognized by the Center for Talented Youth at John's Hopkins University.
The type of school I am looking for is one of academic excellence, but I am just beginning my college search, so I'm keeping an open mind. I'm considering a major in liberal arts.  I'm flexible with the size and location of the school.
Feel free to contact me at any time. I'd be more than happy to talk things over with any coach that is interested in my credentials.
