Basketball has been a passion in my life for as long as I can remember. I play on my high school team as well as on an AAU team in the spring and fall. I also train with my AAU coaches and teammates year round. To play basketball in college is my goal and it would be a dream come true. In addition to playing basketball at the collegiate level, I plan to get a bachelor’s degree in engineering. It is important to me to make a difference and know how things work, which is why I have chosen the path of engineering where I can solve problems that are important to society. If there is something I can do to make a positive influence to my team, then I’ll do it. Leadership, hard work, sportsmanship, and working as a team are extremely important to me, and I also bring this mentality with me in everything I do, especially basketball. I take this positive approach to my community service as well. I am a member of Math Honor Society and National Honor Society where we help the community through events such as running blood drives, food drives, and tutoring students who are struggling with certain subjects. While I’m very competitive and strive to do my best in sports and school, my family and friends are most important to me, and having fun along the way makes it worth all of the hard work.
