Greetings! My name is Madeline Lowe and I am a student at Douglas County High School in Minden, Nevada. I have been playing sports for my entire life, my utmost favorite being basketball. It has always been my goal to play in college and I am determined to do everything in my power in order to do that. With my inspiration, passion and love for the game, there is nothing that I would rather do than play basketball at the collegiate level.
I have been playing varsity basketball since freshman year, also lettering in volleyball and track. After my sophomore year, I decided to focus on basketball as I loved the unselfish and family mentality that I never felt in my other sports. I am an aggressive player who loves driving to the basket and also distributing the ball. I am able to adapt to different situations and recognize the most effective defense/offense. I am a strong defender and can generate fast breaks with steals and deflections. I am very versatile on the court as I can handle the ball and take jump shots or post up down low.
In the classroom, I take pride in keeping a high GPA while juggling advanced classes. I understand that I am a student before an athlete and have become an expert in time management. I have been on the Nevada All-State Academic team in every sport for the last three years. I plan to become a Physician's Assistant or a Nurse Practitioner after college. Along with school, I participate in clubs such as the National Honors Society, Block D, InterAct Rotary Club and am the president of my school's Environmental Club.
I constantly strive to improve my game, whether I am spending long hours in the gym by myself or driving an hour to and from practice for my club team. I consider myself a team player and am committed to improving my own skills as well as my team's ability to work together. My positive attitude and ability to learn from my mistakes makes me a coachable and motivated player. I will put in whatever it takes to raise my game to the next level and would be extremely humbled to have the opportunity to play basketball in college.
Thank you for your time!
