Maya Solarana '16 Recruiting Profile

Hi, I am Maya Solarana, I am 17 years old, and am about to start my senior year at Westside High School. I started playing basketball when I was in grade school and have loved to play the game ever since. I am hoping to continue basketball in college if I can and I'm interested in majoring in Sports Marketing and Management. One of my strengths is that I am a team player. The best games we had were when we all chipped in to do our parts and help the team by stepping up when we had to. Defense and ball awareness are areas in which I am also strong in. I usually am the leading rebounder in most games and I'm good at sealing off players on the opposing team and allowing my teammates to drive the lane and score. I also love to finish the play when one of my teammates misses a shot. My parents and coaches have said I'm a nice kid and coachable. I listen and try to make the suggested changes/adjustments to improve my playand help my team succeed. Besides being a person who really loves the game, I'm in it for the whole team. I want us all to succeed. I have a good work ethic, study habits, and always try my hardest in class, whether it be an assignment, homework, or a test.I believe I would be an asset to my college team for the reasons just stated and am looking forward to the opportunity to continue to grow as a player and help my team be successful.Thank you.
