Rylee Smith '24 Recruiting Profile

I have been playing basketball since I was in the fourth grade. Since I first stepped foot on the court, I have aspired to play at the college level. I‘m a team player and try to lead by example while also encouraging my teammates. I am hard working and very coachable and strive to be one of the hardest working players on any team I’m part of.

Off the court, I study hard and maintain a good GPA. I am a member of our school's FFA program and have raised pigs and lambs for the county fair. I am a member of the Caledonian Society and a Scottish Caledonian dancer. To earn money and save for college I work during the school year and summer months. I have participated in high school band and varsity basketball, volleyball, and softball. In the spring and summers, outside of basketball season, I focus on my basketball game and have played for the Northwest Blazers Montana AAU competitive travel program, the Select Basketball AAU competitive travel program, for Coach Jana Waters on a travel basketball team attending tournaments in MT & WY, and with my high school team in local area tournaments. I also attend basketball skills camps and spend time on my own working on basketball skills and drills. I accepted an invite to play on an AMTeamSports basketball team in June of 2023, where I will travel to Australia as a goodwill ambassador and play in the Nunawading Spectres Basketball Tournament.

I earned all conference honors for the 2021-2022 basketball season.

I want to attend a college where I can push myself in the classroom and on the court. I am open to colleges at every division level and want to ultimately find the right college match academically, that offers the highest level of competition possible.  I am interested in pursing a career in veterinary medicine, so I am looking for colleges that would offer bachelor's programs in Biology, Animal Sciences, and/or Pre-Vet. I strive to be a great role model for my younger nieces and nephews and kids in my community.
