My name is Grace Archambault and I am a 5'10" small forward for Eureka. I started off as a freshmen on varsity, but also played a little jv my first year in high school. During my freshman year of high school basketball we placed 4th at state. This experience was incredible and unreal. Some ask how or question what I did different, and the truth is, I listened. I believe my coach saw something in me before I even noticed it myself. It wasn't because I was the fastest, tallest, nor the best shooter. I am a coachable player. One thing many teenagers lack is the ability to take constructive criticism. In my opinion, it doesn't matter if you are the best player on the team. If you can't be coached you won't achieve your full potential, and that is just a terrible waste of talent. Almost 6 years ago my sister, Kaela, passed away in a car accident. It altered my life and has shaped not only who I am as a person, but also a player. School is extremely important to me. Not only because my parents want me to do my best, but because I want to succeed in everything I do. I currently have a 3.4 GPA and plan to raise it to a 3.5 by the end of my senior year. I am self driven and don't need anyone to push me. I'm a hard worker and most importantly, I love the game. I am involved in an Equity group at Eureka whose focus is to increase equality in our community. I was also a part of the National Leadership Academy my sophomore year. This was an amazing and life changing experience. I learned a lot about myself throughout these opportunities. Although I am not set on a major I am leaning towards psychology. I prefer to stay close to home, but will consider looking at colleges farther away. I am interested in smaller schools that will help me balance school and basketball. However, I will stay open to all my possibilities.
