Katelyn Parkey '17 Recruiting Profile

My passion is basketball. I love the game. It has taught me how to work hard, how to lose, and how to win.  The game is more than just wins and losses it is about the passion and drive to be my best! I live in a small town and love hanging out with my friends. Scary movies and Netflix are how I de-stress. I have a very close family with aunts, uncles, cousins, grandparents, everyone always laughs when my family shows up to my games because there are so many of them. My grandpa has never missed a game and has coached me from the time I was little. Basketball and Notre Dame kind of runs in our blood. One thing my grandpa always told me and that has stuck with me is "you only have to score 1 basket to win a game, the rest is about defense."  I will work hard for your team and for you. I will not stop. There are skills that I need to improve on and I am willing to do the work. I believe the team is always the most important asset on the basketball court, my dedication is to the team; not to myself.  I want to be successful in college as a student and as a basketball player and I believe I can be an asset if given the chance.
