When I reach college, my two biggest goals are to work hard and be able to get into Physical Therapy school, and to enjoy my last few years of schooling, making new friends, working hard and enjoying my time. Being a part of a basketball team, I think, would help me accomplish all of these goals.
Character: Definitely a goofball, and always making those around me smile and laugh. Respectful to everyone I encounter, and trustworthy with anything someone tells me. After tearing my ACL last May(2015) I learned how mentally strong of an individual I am, what a strong positive mindset I have and how dedicated I am to reach a goal. Hardworking and committed. Positive, optimistic, and very encouraging! Leader off the court by respecting my teammates and making good decisions.
Athletics: Like I said, I recently tore my ACL so I missed out on this past AAU season which set me back a little bit. With a lot of hardwork, I recovered in 4 1/2 months to be able to start this season 100%. Handle the ball very well, and always creating for my teammates. Vocal leader on both ends of the court: making sure everyone is squared away, backside talk, encouraging, and cheering. Great backside help defender, and is confident when guarding a stud player. Offensive game has improved a lot since injury. Outside shot is consistent, but is able to get to the rim and draw the contact. Doesn't force shots, knows when to pitch it out.
Academics: Challenge myself by taking classes that are difficult and require a lot of outside work just like a college class. Use my time wisely in class, but do not procrastinate on unfinished homework. At school almost every single day because I love conquering new pieces of information. Put a lot of work in outside of class to learn the material rather than memorize it. Involved in a variety of things at school such as: a number of clubs, our SLAM! group which teaches younger students on making good decisions throughout high school, our live stream team for sporting events, working in our training room in the fall, and being on the crew team for our spring musical. I'm also an active member in FCA.
