Personal Statement

From that very young age, the more I played basketball the more I fell in love with the sport.  As I played more and had success on the court my desire and dream to play college basketball has grown stronger.  I have run cross country, played soccer, and volleyball but since starting as a freshman on my varsity basketball team I am 100% focused on making that dream come true.

I am a physically and mentally strong basketball player with a high basketball IQ and good instincts.  I am a competitor and I want the ball in my hands when the game is on the line.  I am a very good ball handler, I can drive and get to the basket, and as a result I often shoot free throws where I am an 83%+ shooter.  I am a very good mid-range shooter and I am developing my three point shot.  My varsity coach and AAU coaches tell me I am very coachable, a student of the game, and no one works harder on the court than me.  I have been a leader and cheerer for my team since starting on my varsity team as a Freshman.  I always try to lead by example both on and off the court.

In the classroom, I study hard and maintain a high 3.70 GPA in one of the top academic High Schools in Michigan. I work at my Church with the grounds keeping team in the summer and volunteer in the three year old Sunday School room two Sunday's per month.

I realize that my adult career will likely be in a field where I don't play basketball.  As a result, I want to attend a college/university where I can get a great education and have experiences that will prepare me for life after basketball.   I am open to all options and want to ultimately find the right college/university match to compete and learn at the highest level of competition possible.  I am looking for a program and coaches with high integrity and where I will improve my basketball game and be prepared for life after basketball.

NCSA COLLEGE RECRUITING®

NCSA College Recruiting® (NCSA) is the nation’s leading collegiate recruiting source for more than 500,000 student-athletes and 42,000 college coaches. By taking advantage of this extensive network, more than 92 percent of NCSA verified athletes play at the college level. The network is available to high school student-athletes around the country through valued relationships with the NFLPA, FBU, NFCA and SPIRE. Each year, NCSA educates over 4 million athletes and their parents about the recruiting process through resources on its website, presentations of the critically-acclaimed seminar College Recruiting Simplified, and with Athletes Wanted, the book written by NCSA founder Chris Krause.
