I know that in student-athlete, student comes first for a reason. My mother graduated as valedictorian at her high school and that had been a goal of mine as a young child, to follow in her footsteps. As a freshman in high school, my grades fell from what they were in middle school. I went from a 4.0 student to a 3.0 student and I accept that I didn't focus as well as I could or should have. However, I turned this around my sophomore year to get my sophomore GPA to about a 3.8 and accumulative to about a 3.4. While I love my athletics, I know that without good grades and an education, I can't be as successful as I want to be in life.
As an athlete, I'm a very hard worker, and I do whatever is needed of me on the court. If my coach or team needs me to do something, I put my 100% effort into it. My favorite aspect of basketball is defense. I love to lock down on somebody so that my team can get the ball and work our offense. To me, anybody can score, but defense takes determination. The reason I love defense is because I get the best feeling when I keep my match up from scoring. My motto has always been, you may be better than me at this moment, but you'll never work harder than me.
I am excited to be apart of the recruiting process and will work as hard as possible wherever I go and for whoever I play under.
