Kari Payton '11 Recruiting Profile

I am a five foot five inch, 138 pound, senior from a small town called Bastrop in North Louisiana. Basketball has been my passion since middle school. I have great endurance and agility. I am very strong, quick, and aggressive. I have ran the 400m dash since my freshman year in high school. My best time was 60.17. I have have many goals in my life but here are two of the biggest ones that stand out. The first is winning a state championship. Junior year we placed 4th in the state. Nothing can stop us this year. I earned 1st Team All District Honors in basketball since my freshman year, 2nd Team All District in Softball my freshman year, and went to the LHSAA State Track Meet three years in a row. My biggest dream is to play college basketball. I don't know what I would do if I didn't play basketbal in college. It is my drive for waking up in the morning and sacrificing my time. I HAVE to play college basketball. I love the game and feel that I am very coachable. People always tell me I have talent and can go far, but I'm not looking for a big school nor a small school. I'm looking for a school that makes me give 100%. A school where basketball is serious. A school where I am encouraged to work hard in academics, religion, and sports. I do not have a major yet. I'm leaning towards psychology or becoming an engineer. My biggest goal is to make something of myself and maximize my talent. No matter where I go I want to be the best and truly learn the game of basketball.
