Personal Statement
I am originally from Honolulu, Hawaii but call Japan my home since I have lived here since the age of two. I am a hard working person both academically and athletically in my senior year of high school. I am currently attending Yokota High School on Yokota Air Force Base in Fussa, Japan.
This will be my fourth year playing high school basketball. But I have been playing competitive basketball since I was in the sixth grade. I have been the starting Varsity point guard for my school for the past 4 years. I was named Most Valuable Player (MVP) at the DODDS Tournament in 2015 and 2017. I made the ALL STAR team for both the DODDS Tournament and the Far East Tournament for the past three years (2015, 2016, and 2017). I helped my school win the Far East Tournament for the first time since 1991 in my freshmen year. I also made the Stars and Stripes ALL STAR 2nd Team. I am looking forward in seeing what my future holds and how I can improve my game even more in the years to come. When I am not playing basketball for my high school, I participated in other school sports such as volleyball and soccer. I also made varsity for both of those sports as well. As you can see, athletically, I always give 100% to be the best team player that I can be.
Even though I play many sports for my school that sometimes requires me to travel by bus for 12-13 hours just to play a game, I am still able to maintain great grades with a 3.5 GPA. I am currently a member of the National Junior Honor Society (NJHS). I've made Honor Roll every quarter since I have been in school. I am enrolled in several rigorous classes such as AP English and AP Stats. I plan on continuing to take more rigorous classes and maintaining a high GPA to help better my chances in getting into a great college/university.
During the summers, my family and I travel back to the United States where I participate in basketball camps. Each year I feel that my game improves from attending these camps and trainings.
I am so happy to be apart NCSA. I am looking forward to having them help me find a great college/university where I can continue my success academically and athletically while playing women's basketball.
