Personal Statement
When I was 18, I moved 200 km away from home so I could play elite basketball in Denmark. There is no doubt that I will go to extreme lengths to be able to play and improve my game. Going to college has always been my dream. I come from a basketball family – my father has been a coach in college and coached in Denmark, and both my father and mother have played the game. My brother also plays elite in Denmark and will also be coming to the states to play.
Being a coach’s daughter has had an effect on my playing style. I always put the team first and will always give up my shot for a better one. I come to every single practice and work hard every day. I always have a positive attitude and contribute to a positive and competitive spirit on the team.
I maintain a 4.0 GPA, and I work very hard in school, as well as in basketball. I am not only smart in school; I am also a very smart player.
I am 20 years old, and I have lived on my own for two years. I will therefore be much more mature than most freshmen starting in college, and that will be a huge advantage for me both on and off the court.
My strength on the court is my shooting ability, especially behind the 3-point line, and since the 3 point line is further out in Europe I will have the advantage of being able to shoot from further out.
I want to combine my basketball dreams with a great education, and I will work hard every day in both, to achieve my dreams.
