Personal Statement

I am a 5'6 shooting guard/power forward. I am the only child at home and I am the daughter of james and Sherry Curry. I am a very fun and enerjectic team player and i am a competator. there somethings that coaches can teach but i have qualities such as being a hard worker, a hustler and giving 110% effort. I am looking for a school that not only has a solid basketball program but a school that will provide me with the experience not only to learn but to make me a better human being. A school that will welcome me with open arms adn take me under their wing to mold me into the outstanding young lady I know i can be. Along with me being 5'6 i am around a solid 155 lbs. Some players are built for speed but me on the other hand, i am built for contact and rebounding. Although my hight might notbe as tall as my competitors i have no problem with bodying up and going in for rebounds, boxing out, setting screens, etc.

I also play for the indianapolis indiana "The Family" AAU program. This was also a home AAU team for Professional WNBA players Ta'Shia Phillips and Amber Harris, Notre Dame point guard Skylar Diggins and Over Seas Player for Jeruselum Ashley Barlow. I also played powderpuff football for my school. The had me at Offensive Line and Deffensive Line. For any college team that plans on recruiting me i plan on bringing nothing but positive energy and hardwork to the table. I am a greatleader and i love to apply my vocal skills on the court. Communication is a big key on succes on the court and growing closer with your teamates. I am the type of player to be first in the gym and the last to leave, because i am never satisfied with what i do. I always have to feel the need to work hard and to be there for my team mates. It has always been my dream to play basketball at a college level. It has been my dream to even go to college. I have no particular preference to what school i want to go to. I just know that what ever school it is i want to be content with my decision in choosing it and knowing that i made the right choice. Location isnt really a factor to me, it would be nice if i didnt have to go far away from home because i am the only child and my parents are getting older. But if that was my only option i wouldnt have a problem going far away. Preferably i am looking for a division 1 school to play basketball , but i am open to any type of schools. My family and I do have financial needs that we hope can be mett. Such as book awards, scholarships, grants etc. Its been my dream since i was a little girl to work with animals and that is why i am going to be majoring in Wildlife Science/Zoology.

My athletic goal is to comepte at the highest level of my ability. no matter what school has selected me i will play as hard and as long as i can to keep my coaches, teamates and fans happy. I want to be able to play as a freshman and;  bring something to the table for my teamates that is not only special but greatly needed such as rebounding , hustle , energy , communication etc.
