" The price of success is hard work, dedication to the job at hand, and the determination that whether we win or lose, we have applied the best of ourselves to the task at hand," said the late great football coach, Vince Lombardi. This quote describes me because I diligently suscribe to the philosophy that nothing good comes easily and that success is the product of hard work - not talent alone. this is a philosophy that I embrace in the classroom as well as on the basketball court. I am number three in my class with a 3.9 GPA. In the class, I am an avid learner, for I view learning new things with enthusiasm because increasing my academic capacity makes me a better person and eventually a stronger prospective employee. I have played high school basketball for what soon will be four seasons; furthermore, I have been team captain since my sophomore season. On the court Iplay hard and play to win; however I an accept defeat - but only when I am content within myself that Ihave played my absolute best. Each year I grind harder in practice because I spectulate other athletes are not going to play quite the same as the year before; they will progress and the competition will be more tenacious. Some may lose zeal as the seasons progress and the competition demands elevate. However, time and time again I have proven to others and to myself that I can rise above academic and athletic challenges.
